Evaluation System/Procedure

GRADE: NURSERY-UKG

The academic year is divided into four terms. There are formal written examinations for these classes. Evaluation of the child’s progress is done on the basis of day to day performance and in fair evaluation cycles. These theme-based assessments are carried out in various ways which include assessments via worksheets and work done in the notebooks in school and at home, oral assessments via classroom discussions and interactions, and activity Assessments that are judged primarily through Activities, Project - activities, Learning Centred activities, creative work etc.

The overall performance of the child will be intimated through the Progress Profile.

GRADE: I - X

Assessment at this stage will be purely qualitative. Judgements of children’s activities in various domains will be based on observations made on a regular basis. Apart from academic assessment, health and physical development of the child will also be monitored. Assessment will be done in absolute informal situation making it more flexible.

The criterion for the Assessment is concept clarity; problem solving and thinking skills based on Class Work / WrittenAssessment / day-to-day Classroom interaction / Behaviour / Conversation / Co-curricular activities.

(2nd Half of the session) 20 marks Periodic Assessment + 80 marks for Half Yearly Exam

PA 20 marks Half Yearly Exam
  • Periodic Test 10 Marks with syllabus covered till announcement of test dates by school

  • Sub Enrichment 5 marks at termend
  • Written exam for 80 marks with syllabus coverage as below:

Co-Scholastic Activities: Co-Scholastic activities will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale: (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)

Evaluation Rules & Regulations

General Rules and Regulations for Examination and Evaluation :

  • Attendance is compulsory for all the tests held during the year, failing in which the students will be awarded zero. The student has to appear for the examinations in order to be considered for promotion to the next class.
  • Re-test will not be conducted for a child who is absent for any of the tests conducted during the year.
  • No early leave will be granted to the child onAssessment days in any case.
  • A minimum attendance of 85% of the total number of working days in each term is compulsory. On medical grounds the attendance will be as per CBSE norms.
  • Students who report late for any of the examinations / assessments will not be given any extra time for answering the question papers.
  • Unfair Means: Students using unfair means during any of the examinations (Weekly Test or Assessment) will be awarded zero in that subject. Parents of such students will be called to the school where both the parents and child will be asked to give an undertaking that if the same is repeated in future, then the child will be given T.C. without any explanation.
  • All types of correction (calculation mistake, unmarked questions, etc.) in the answer scripts should be brought to the notice of the subject teacher concerned on the same day. Any change thereafter will not be taken into account while preparing the final result.
  • Request of Progress Profile before result declaration will not be entertained.
  • Duplicate Report Card will be issued on a payment of ₹ 200/-.
  • The school arranges for students to participate in various competitive examinations conducted at the any level. Students wishing to participate will have to pay the fee as required by the body conducting these tests. Besides the students will also be required to pay for the travel and boarding.
  • SeveralAssessments will be conducted throughout the year as per the guidelines from C.B.S.E.

Note: In case of any emergency, if the exam is not conducted on the scheduled date it should be noted that the same will be conducted at the end of the examination schedule.
